How to transport large-sized goods for export? Special containers can be chosen for transportation.

Special container export transportation is an indispensable transportation method in international trade logistics. Different from ordinary dry cargo containers, it is mainly used for transporting goods that are extremely long, wide, tall, heavy, or have special requirements such as maintaining a constant temperature, ventilation, and pressure resistance. It is widely used in export scenarios of engineering equipment, building materials, cold chain food, chemical parts, etc.

The common export special containers mainly include several mainstream types: Open-top containers are suitable for extremely tall and heavy goods, such as steel and large machinery, and are convenient for top lifting and loading/unloading; Frame containers have no side walls and no box top, and are specifically used to carry extremely long and wide engineering equipment and pipes; Refrigerated containers are used for temperature-controlled goods such as fruits, seafood, and vaccines, and can maintain constant temperature and humidity throughout the journey; Ventilation containers and insulation containers are suitable for agricultural products, precision parts, and other goods that are afraid of moisture and stuffiness.

The core difficulty of special container transportation lies in the fact that there are no unified standards for the size and weight of the goods. The export operation is more rigorous than that of ordinary containers. Before shipment, the length, width, height, net weight and gross weight of the goods must be accurately measured to confirm whether they exceed the limits. Parameters must be reported to the shipping company in advance to avoid failed booking. At the same time, the fixation and reinforcement of special goods are of paramount importance. Tools such as straps, wooden supports, and anti-slip pads must be used to firmly fix the goods to prevent displacement or damage during maritime transportation. This is the key to avoiding damage to the goods.

In addition, the shipping schedules of special containers are relatively fewer, and the shipping space is tight. It is recommended to book the shipping space 7 to 15 days in advance. During the customs declaration process, the attributes and size parameters of the goods must be truthfully declared, and complete documents must be provided. In general, as long as the three core aspects of booking, fixation, and customs declaration are well controlled, the cross-border transportation can be completed efficiently and safely, meeting the export logistics needs of special goods.
